ST. JOHN’S CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL PART-TIME DIRECTOR POSITION
This position works 8:30 to 2:00 Monday through Friday
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Preschool Director to lead the St. John’s Christian preschool. The Preschool Director will oversee all aspects of the preschool, including curriculum development, staff management, budgeting, enrollment, and parent communication. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood development, and a commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating educational program in a Christian learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes the spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate teaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and care.
- Provide ongoing support and professional development opportunities for teaching staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families.
- Collaborate with parents to support children's learning and development and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Work with treasurer and preschool board to manage preschool finances, including budgeting, fundraising, and tuition collection. Maintain financial sustainability.
- Maintain compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and other legal requirements.
- Foster positive relationships with community partners, including other early childhood programs, schools, and local organizations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries and communication related to the preschool, including marketing and promotion of the program to generate enrollment.
- Stay current on trends and research in early childhood education and incorporate best practices into program planning and implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred OR 90-hour child care certification required.
- Previous experience working in a preschool setting, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of educators.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices. 6. Familiarity with state licensing regulations and early childhood education standards. 7. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. 8. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Proficiency in the use of social media and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management software.
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in early childhood education. 11. Ability to meet all MSDE requirements including background checks.
